Mary is from Hyampom, CA and graduated from Hayfork High School in 1999. She studied Journalism and Spanish at Chico State University, living abroad in both Spain and Mexico during that time. While earning a BA in Journalism and Spanish at CSU Chico, Mary wrote for the college paper, The Orion. Her love of writing and journalism led her to work as a Radio Broadcaster for Regent Broadcasting as an on-air personality and journalist in Redding, CA. Her experience and knowledge of the community led her to a career in Public Relations for non-profit organizations in the north state for over the next 5 years. Mary’s love of travel, diversity, and youth led her to change careers recently, and she is celebrating her 4th year teaching Spanish at Trinity High School this year.

A graduate and valedictorian of Hayfork High in 2006, Joanne attended Cal State Long Beach on a full-academic scholarship through the university. Joanne double majored Summa Cum Laude in journalism and anthropology. She was editor-in-chief of her college’s daily newspaper and went onto work in a magazine publishing corporation as an editor/writer and eventually became a department head, creating a content marketing division for multimedia research and special advertising projects.
